There are many different ways to get to Perthshire, but the main ways are by car, bus, train, and air. You could also be adventurous and backpack there, but due to the various situations that could arise, like the
recent epidemic of foot and mouth disease among animal life, the best advice is to contact the Scottish Tourist Board with regards to traveling by foot. Travel by Car: From the
south head to Glasgow then take the M8 motorway towards the city center. Follow signs for city center, passing Easterhouse on the right. Shortly after this you will see the signs for Stirling (M80), take this exit.(if
travelling from the airport, head north into and through the city center along the M8 motorway, till you see the junction for Stirling M80 (about 2 miles from city centre). Soon you will see the signs for the A9, follow
this for some distance then follow onto the A822 towards Crieff until the junction of A826 which will take you to Aberfeldy. (you have arrived!) From the east (Edinburgh), take the M90 motorway northwest to
Perth, then the A85 to just before Crieff, then the A822 until the junction of A826 to reach Aberfeldy (you have arrived!)From the North (Aberdeen), take the A93 southwest to Blairgowrie, then take the A923 through
Dunkeld, then the A9 to Ballinluig and the A827 to Aberfeldy (you have arrived!) Travel by Coach/Bus: A regular service by National Express/Scottish Citylink from Buchanan
Bus Station in Glasgow operates to Pitlochry and also from the main Edinburgh Bus Station. When you arrive in Pitlochry you can then jump on the local bus service that will take you to Aberfeldy which is 15 miles away.
If travelling from Aberdeen, again use National Express/Scottish Citylink and change at Perth for Pitlochry then jump on the local service. For anyone travelling from other locations in the Uk, make your way to
Edinburgh or Glasgow, and follow the above. Any coach information can be found at www.nationalexpress.co.uk or by phoning 08705808080.
Travel by Train: There is not a direct service to Aberfeldy, so you will have to head to Pitlochry and then jump on a local bus service to reach your destination. Due to
changes in various regions due to track work throughout the Uk, full upto date information can be found at www.rail.co.uk or by phoning 08457484950.For further information contact: The Scottish Tourist Board 23 Ravelston Terrace Edinburgh EH4 3EU Scotland or visit: www.visitscotland.com If phoning any number above from outside the Uk, dial the international code, then 44, plus the number above omitting the initial zero.
